Jozane Resende
Visual Artist · Architect · Printmaker
About the Artist
Born in Rio de Janeiro and shaped by her childhood in the Amazon rainforest, Jozane Resende creates work rooted in close observation of the natural world. She collaborates with leaves, petals, rocks, and roots, transforming their textures into prints and mixed-media pieces that feel both intimate and expansive.
Her practice draws on architectural training, global studies in natural dyes, Japanese papers, Indigo, Shibori, sumi-e, and Tibetan Thangka painting, as well as her ongoing exploration of Chinese printmaking. These influences surface quietly — not as stylistic declarations, but as ways of seeing.
Now based in Orange County, Jozane continues to blend her Brazilian roots, global experiences, and deep reverence for nature into a contemplative, tactile, and quietly transformative body of work.
Jozane is not just a printmaker; it is one of her many artistic tools. She is also a visual artist and architect, and she has created short films, expanding her creative expression beyond printmaking.
